Many factors go into choosing the right inpatient treatment center for depression. One of the most important standards is whether the facility has been accredited by the Joint Commission, which is the standard of quality care. There are many different options when it comes to type of rehab for depression. Here are a few types:

  • Residential treatment. These are facilities that provide a comfortable environment for an extended stay, with daily psychiatric care and support groups.
  • Work-based or farm-based/communal programs. These long-term care facilities incorporate life skills, occupational skills, and social skills with clinical care.
  • Group homes. A residence that is converted to a rehab for depression, providing a homey environment for a small number of residents who receive therapy, clinical care, and group support while also working at a part-time job off site.
